From Student to Digital Content Creator
In today’s digital era, English Literature students are no longer limited to traditional career paths such as teaching or academic research. The development of social media has opened many new opportunities, especially in content creation. In this context, I see myself as a future digital content creator in the beauty and lifestyle field, focusing on creating content for teenagers who are interested in skincare.
I chose this career because it fits my personality and interests. I am not really interested in reading or writing long texts, but I enjoy watching videos, following trends, and exploring content on social media. Becoming a content creator allows me to express myself in a more visual and creative way. It also offers flexibility, which matches my preference for a more relaxed working style.
My target audience is teenagers aged around 16 to 20 years old who are active on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. They are usually interested in skincare but often feel confused because there is too much information online. Many of them follow trends without fully understanding the products they use.
The main problem they face is the difficulty of choosing the right skincare products. They are exposed to many different opinions, which makes it hard to decide what is suitable for their skin. This problem is important because it affects their confidence and daily life. If they use the wrong products, it can lead to skin problems and wasted money.
If this issue is not solved, they may continue to feel insecure and confused. They might also lose trust in online content and stop believing in recommendations. Therefore, they need content that is simple, honest, and easy to understand.
As a content creator, I can help solve this problem by creating relatable and informative content. I want to focus on simple skincare routines, honest product reviews, and basic skincare education. Instead of following every trend, I want to create content that is realistic and useful for everyday life.
My content strategy includes several types of content, such as beauty content, lifestyle content, educational content, and personal branding content. I will mainly use TikTok and Instagram because they are suitable for short and engaging videos. By posting consistently, I can build trust with my audience and grow my personal brand.
In terms of personal branding, I want to be seen as a relatable and honest beauty content creator. I want my content to feel natural and not too perfect, so my audience can connect with me easily. This is important because people are more likely to trust creators who feel real and authentic.
As an English Literature student, I also have skills that can support my career. I understand basic communication, storytelling, and audience awareness. Even though I do not focus on writing, these skills still help me create better content and communicate more effectively.
However, I am aware that I still have weaknesses, such as lack of consistency and limited technical skills. To improve, I need to practice regularly, learn video editing, and stay updated with social media trends.
In conclusion, becoming a beauty and lifestyle content creator is a suitable career choice for me. It matches my interests, skills, and preferred working style. By focusing on helping my audience and building a strong personal brand, I believe I can grow and stay relevant in the digital world.
